I majored in Communication Design at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania. You're probably thinking what the heck is a Kutztown? Well, fun fact, it's a tiny Pennsylvania Dutch town smack dab in the middle of Amish country. Not so fun fact, Kutz is the PA Dutch word for vomit—but we won't go there. Before you knock it though, you should know that they have an excellent design program that set forth some amazing opportunities for me. Before even graduating I interned my way through Philadelphia at two different Ad Agencies, Tierney and Red Tettemer, O'Connell & Partners.

My senior year I was lucky enough to be sent to the One Club Portfolio Review in NYC where there was a whopping 6 Leo Burnett recruiters present. Lucky for me the first one I talked to found one of my pieces hilarious, handed me her card and asked how I felt about Chicago. Two weeks later I had an interview scheduled with the Creative Director of Pantene. Another two weeks later I was on a plane to Chicago for a day of in-person interviews. And two days after that I was offered the job.

 

4 years and a promotion later I had had the chance to work alongside and learn from some of the most interesting and creative people I have ever met in my life. But, it was time to move on and this time back to the East Coast. Thus, I currently find myself in NYC working on an exciting variety of brands like Mars Wrigley Confectionery, Band-Aid, and Disney Vacation Club, to name a few. It’s been a fun journey and I’m always looking for a new adventure so don’t hesitate to reach out and get to know me.
